We called in a few months ago to see the steam train go by, and we had just missed it. But we had a really good look around the station, the coach works and the shop, spent a good hour on site and was in luck to see the train return. My boys were really happy to see it head through. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the station was really clean and tidy.
It's small but has plenty to see, if you're a train buff, you will love it.
Beautiful station. It's a piece of history. Tickets are rather expensive but it's worth it for the train trip. There are two railway museums there as well.
